In my opinion the Chevy Volt was a success
in terms of going green. The car is ranked
number three out of thirty-eight in Fuel economy, having “98 MPGe combined”.
The leaders are the 2014 Honda Accord followed by the 2013 Ford Fusion Energi.
I also think the Chevy Volt was a success based on the customer reviews.
Although the overall rating was 6.5, the customer rating was 8.9. In means of
marketing, this is what really matters, satisfying the customers. Using the 4ps
could be a factor to the success of this car. From reading the customer reviews
the product is extremely economic running purely on electric currents. Gasoline
is only used when the electric motor needs to be recharged. Reviews also say
that this product is exciting to drive because of all of the interesting
features, sustainable, silent, and comfortable to drive.
The pricing for the car ranges from
$40,000-$45,000 depending on whether or not you want additional features. These
features include leather, navigation, Bose audio, and the rearview camera and
park-assist package. It cost $1.50 per day to recharge, and to replace its 110v
cable including installation it could cost $490. This car is pretty pricy and shouldn’t
be purchased if the customer only wants long range, good fuel economy and low
emissions. From reading the customer reviews the benefits from the car exceed
the cost.
The car is promoted through
television, the radio, billboards, and of course the internet.
